The 2024 Annual Interchange, “Safe and Equitable Transportation Through Emerging Technologies”, is just around the corner and we invite you to take advantage of this opportunity to participate as an Exhibitor and/or a Sponsor or as an Attendee! The Interchange presents a unique opportunity for access to transportation decision makers throughout New England.

The Interchange will be held on Thursday October 10, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Downtown - 700 Elm St, Manchester, NH 03101.

This conference is an exciting one day program of panel discussions, technical sessions, and presentations. Our mission is to facilitate the transfer of knowledge between the public, private and academic sectors:

  • We will continue the practice of offering complementary exhibit hall booths to Public Sector. We anticipate approximately 25 exhibitor booths total.

  • We will also continue the practice of inviting our ITS Board of Directors, the ITS leaders from the six New England states to participate in panels and discussions as appropriate.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

Deadline to submit abstracts is

Friday, August 9, 2024

New England ITS is soliciting abstracts for presentation at this year’s Annual Interchange. This year’s event is centered around how emerging technologies are being used to foster safe and equitable transportation networks and services. The sessions will be designed to explore how the latest innovations in ITS can enhance the safety and accessibility of transportation systems for all users and stakeholders.

We invite contributions from practitioners, researchers, policymakers, and industry partners who are working on developing, procuring, implementing, and evaluating ITS solutions that address the challenges and opportunities of ensuring safe and equitable transportation in a rapidly changing world.

The theme covers topics such as:

  • ITS applications deployed for the purpose of improving safety, reducing traffic crashes, encouraging more sustainable travel, and mitigating environmental impacts.

  • Inclusive ITS applications that enhance transportation mobility and accessibility for vulnerable and marginalized groups, such as aging populations, persons with disabilities, low-income communities, and rural areas.

  • Projects or examples that leverage Federal and State funding to implement ITS solutions in rural, low-income, or otherwise disadvantaged communities.

  • Methodologies to identify and mitigate potential biases and ethical dilemmas in ITS data collection, analysis, and decision making, such as algorithmic fairness, data privacy, and user trust.

  • Best practices for preparing the workforce to design, procure, implement, and maintain increasingly complex technology within the ITS industry.

  • Lessons learned from effective DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) organizational frameworks within transportation agencies or industry.

To submit your abstract, please complete the form below by August 9, 2024.

If you have any questions regarding the abstract submission, please contact Britton Johnson at britton.johnson@kimley-horn.com.
