Traditional crash data alone often fails to capture emergency safety risks, particularly for pedestrians and bicyclists. To address this gap, transportation agencies are increasing using near-miss conflict data to identify risks earlier adn guide proactive safety actions.
This session showcases how agencies across the Northeast and Midwest are applying conflict analytics in practice, including;
Featured Applications
-
Supplementing crash analysis and evaluating safety countermeasures (DelDOT).
-
Proactively assessing safety at and around transit stops (IndyGo, Indianapolis).
-
Prioritizing pedestrian lighting and safety investments (NJPTA).
Attendees will gain practical insight into how near-miss conflict data is being integrated into real-world safety programs to support timely and targeted interventions.

Transportation projects are often slowed by fragmented, outdated, or incomplete existing-conditions data. This session explores how a nationwide, high-resolution transportation asset dataset can eliminate those gaps. By providing a consistent digital foundation of roads and infrastructure, Ecopia's nationwide build-out enables
faster project delivery, better planning outcomes, and more informed investment decisions. Real-world applications will demonstrate how teams are replacing manual data collection with scalable, ready-to-use AI intelligence.
