Mission Statement

We promote the awareness of ITS and its benefits among industry professionals and the general public, and advocate the use of ITS to enhance the usability and efficiency of the transportation network for residents of the region.

ITS New England

The New England region has a solid foundation in place to support the development and deployment of ITS technologies. Many of the most successful high-tech companies have established a strong presence in this area. Various public transportation technologies have made a commitment to utilize intelligent transportation technologies. Some of the most prominent universities in the country are located in this region. Therefore, the region is well positioned to make a significant contribution to the ITS field.

ITS Mission Delivery

NEITS is a non-profit, non-partisan, broadly based coalition of business, labor, institutions of academia, and public agencies - all concerened with the improvement of intermodal surface transportation in our region. Our aim is to establish NEITS as a resource for information on regional and local ITS projects and ITS benefits. NEITS is one of tweny regional chapters formed to encourage greater participation in ITS activities at both the state and local level. It provides a grassroots outlet for information exchange with ITS America on major program issues and serves as a private/public/academic forum to focus on ITS deployment.

We carry out this mission by serving as a forum for ITS information exchange, increasing the awareness of ITS, and by championing the mainstream use of ITS technologies and services. We achieve this mission by facilitating information exchange between our private, public, and academic sector members and partners. Our goal is to increase awareness of local ITS projects and ITS benefits among local industry professionals, policymakers, political leaders, and the general public.

Joining NEITS

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I want to thank you for your past support and look forward to your continued participation in NEITS. Your membership gives you access to a broader network of resources and regional collaboration. Upon payment of your dues, your organization will automatically become part of NEITS.

Our Annual Interchange meeting exemplifies our commitment to knowledge exchange and intra-industry communication. This regional symposium is where New England transportation stakeholders from the private, public, and academic sectors share best practices and cutting-edge transportation technology solutions.
